Octavia is in her third year at the University of Iowa. She is studying with Professor of Flute Nicole Esposito to earn her bachelor’s degree in flute performance. In her junior year of high school, she was selected as a winner of the Cedar Rapids Municipal Band Young Artist Competition and performed a memorized concerto with the group. During her sophomore year at the university she was selected as a winner of the National Flute Association Masterclass Performers Competition where she performed in a masterclass for British flutist Alena Walentin.
