Vocal Private Lessons in Iowa City
Our voice is one of the oldest instruments we have, and we’re here to help you develop, hone, and grow it into the sound you want.
We offer lessons as early as seven years old for beginners, intermediate, and advanced vocalists. Overall, our vocal lessons are divided into three developmental phases: Children’s, Developing/Mature, and Advanced.
Private Lessons
We offer private lessons in three areas of performing arts: instrumental performance, vocal performance, and theatre.
Theater Lessons
Students may begin taking private acting lessons as early as five years old. We offer elementary, junior, senior, and adult acting lessons.
Vocal Lesson Levels
We offer three distinct levels of lessons catering to the various skill levels of our vocal students.
Child Voice
Most studios wait until a voice is fully matured to start voice lessons, but we believe that so much can be learned by starting early.
Our children’s vocal lessons focus on four foundational areas: theory, technique, practice singing, and performance. Our studio uses Gregory Blankenbehler’s Singing Lessons for Little Singers series in addition to several original lesson resources.
Developing Mature Voice
During the years that a child’s voice begins to change and develop into a more mature version of their voice, we encourage students to begin defining their main focus area of study. These areas include but are not limited to: classical, jazz, musical theater, popular, and religious.
Each student will continue their focus and study of the four core foundations of vocal performances while simultaneously developing their main focus area.
Advanced Voice
For students who are wishing to pursue vocal performance as a profession, our advanced vocal instruction focuses on providing instruction that is more extensive and concentrated in the student’s main focus area.
Advanced students’ instruction is based entirely on the student themselves, designed to help them develop based on their goals and objectives.
