Few people in the piano industry bring the depth and breadth of experience that Kirk Davis brings to Brock Family Music.
Kirk began his career in the piano business in 1985 and has spent more than four decades helping families, pianists, educators, schools and universities find the right instruments.
For 32 years, Kirk built his career at West Music, eventually serving as Corporate Director of the Piano Division. In that role, he oversaw piano sales, inventory, marketing, manufacturer relationships and institutional business across six Iowa locations. His work gave him extensive experience with everything from first-time piano buyers to professional musicians and major institutional projects.
In 2017, Kirk joined Yamaha Corporation of America as Central Regional Manager for its Institutional Solutions Group. His work with Yamaha expanded his focus on the educational and institutional piano market, partnering with schools, colleges and universities on piano, keyboard and technology solutions for teaching, practice and performance. He later worked extensively in Yamaha’s higher-education initiatives.
Throughout his career, Kirk has developed an exceptional understanding of acoustic, digital and player pianos and has worked closely with many of the world’s leading piano manufacturers. His institutional work has included accompanying educators to the Steinway & Sons factory in New York to personally evaluate and select concert instruments.
Kirk’s commitment to serving customers has also earned industry recognition, including Yamaha’s Touchstone Award for excellence in customer service.
His connection to music, however, isn’t limited to the piano business. Kirk studied music education and piano at Mount Mercy University and has performed professionally as a musician in the United States and Europe. His background as a musician and educator continues to shape the way he works with customers today.
After more than 40 years in the industry, Kirk understands that choosing a piano isn’t simply about comparing specifications or finding the most expensive instrument in the room.
